Skipper,
Andrew Redvers-Beeby and his wife Jane are both ex Royal Navy and,
in their spare time, are re-building their own boat - a Corvic 35.
Andrew's
strengths are his engineering problem solving skills under stress,
his sense of humour and his ability to impart confidence to guests
and crew. With Andrew in control you have no worries. He is also
an effective, patient and inspiring instructor. Unusual strengths
in one so young and well developed over his time as a Marine Engineer
in Nuclear Submarines and during many offshore sea miles since leaving
the Navy.
He is
a RYA commercially endorsed Yachtmaster Instructor . He is also
qualified to teach and issue certification in Diving, First Aid,
AED's (Automatic External Defibrilation). His hobbies are model
building, skiing, horse riding, diving, walking, underwater photography
and if you would like a record of your holiday he will be delighted
to provide it.
His
wife, Jane, was in Naval Communications and Intelligence and her
primary role is as crew on the vessel - a role in which she is outstandingly
competent. In a crisis Andrew relies on her and she is calm, unflappable
and effective. Her interests are walking, skiing, horse riding,
archeology, diving and reading.
They are an affable, friendly and knowledgeable
couple and are good company. Although both Andrew and Jane are good
cooks we expect guests will want to join in shopping at local markets,
cooking and crewing. For those who prefer it Ushomi can visit local
marinas and enable guests to sample local restaurants.
